What Is Merit 75 WSP Insecticide?

Grubs and other pests of turf can be effectively controlled using the wettable powder insecticide Merit 75 WSP. There are a number of ornamental pests that this treatment effectively controls for an extended period of time.

Imidacloprid 75%, the active ingredient in the formulation, alters insect behavior by interfering with nerve impulses. They stop eating, they stop reproducing, and they die.

Instructions for using Merit 75 WSP on turfgrass, ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, groundcovers, and the areas surrounding and within buildings of all types are provided. Each package includes four 1.6-ounce packets that can be dissolved in water.

The powdered form of Merit 75 WSP makes it simple to apply and gives it a longer shelf life than conventional lawn pesticides.

How To Use Merit 75 WSP Insecticide

  • Get the square footage by multiplying the feet of length by the feet of width. Acreage is calculated by dividing the square footage by 43,560 (1 acre equals 0.4 square miles).
    For residential, commercial, and industrial turfgrasses, the recommended application rate of Merit 75 WSP is 1.6 oz. of product per gallon of water, covering 8,250 to 11,000.
    The application rate for outdoor ornaments is 1.6 oz. per 300 gallons of water, or 1.6 oz. per 8,250 to 11,000 square feet.
    In order to properly water outdoor ornamentals with a broadcast application, you should not use less than 2 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet. Never use more than 8.53 oz. per acre, annually.
  • Pull the contents of the Merit 75 WSP’s clear inner package out of the box. To use, fill your chosen sprayer with half the required amount of water, then add the specified number of unopened Merit 75 WSP transparent inner packages.
    Make sure the contents of your spray tank are evenly mixed by securing the lid and shaking the container. Spraying will not be effective unless the packets have been dissolved entirely in the water.
  • Spray the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves until they are damp, but not dripping wet. During 24 hours of application, water with an inch of water or irrigation.
